As a graduate of the ‘Mozarteum’ in Salzburg (organ) and the University for Music in Vienna (piano, musicology), Florian Pagitsch has won numerous awards at international organ competitions, including the International Franz Liszt-Competition (Budapest/Hungary 1978) and the Quadrennial Johann Sebastian Bach-Competition (Leipzig/Germany 1980). In 1986 he won the first prize for improvisation at the International Anton Bruckner-Competition (Linz/Austria).
