Johan Hermans graduated from the Lemmens Institute in Louvain and the Royal Conservatory of Liège, both in Belgium. He teaches Organ Performance, Chamber Music and Keyboard Harmony at the Conservatory of Hasselt, Belgium. He is Cathedral Organist of the St. Quintinus Cathedral, and also serves as the city's Civic Organist. Johan Hermans is the founder and director of the International Organ Festival of Hasselt, and he is also the artistic director of several organ concert series in and around the city.
