The Organ at Esplanade

The organ at Esplanade is currently the largest in Singapore with 61 stops and 4740 pipes; fitting for the largest performing arts centre in Singapore. It was built and assembled in 2002 by Johannes Klais Orgelbau GmbH & Co. KG (1882 - present) who are based in Bonn, Germany. Also involved in the project were British architects Sterling and Wilford, Singapore designers CD-architects and American acoustic consultants ARTEC.

The organ has two consoles: one mechanical key desk and a moveable, electric console. The moveable console can be played from different locations on stage. Also, there are two exchangeable pedal boards – A parallel and a radiating both built to BDO standards. There are 4000 electronic setter combinations with a sequencer that switches up and down the combinations.
